Spaces for listening and co-creation about the future of energy in Brazil, from the perspective of those who work in the sector.
Between May and August 2025, we held five meetings in strategic cities, bringing together workers, union leaders, and experts in discussion groups and co-creation activities. In São Bernardo do Campo, metalworkers debated the decarbonization of the automotive industry. In Rio de Janeiro and Mossoró, oil workers reflected on energy sovereignty. In Salvador, urban workers discussed renewable energies, rights, and fair tariffs.
In total, more than 120 participants from unions in different regions of the country developed 20 public policy proposals, organized into three sectoral booklets. The proposals address professional training, retraining, job quality, strengthening local economies, and governance of the energy transition.
The results were presented in Brasília to representatives of COP 30, the ILO Brazil, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, as well as at a meeting with the Parliamentary Environmental Front.
The Laboratories have shown, in practice, that workers have concrete contributions to make to the energy transition — and continue to strengthen a network that connects work, climate, and democracy.
